There are two ways you can digitize old audio recordings: (1) use a trusted professional digitizing service such as DVDYourMemories or EverPresent, or (2) do it yourself - this method requires a bit of equipment, but is a fairly straightforward process. See here for a step-by-step guide to digitize an audio cassette on your own.

Absolutely! Examples of great opportunities to record your loves ones are on milestones such as a wedding anniversary, birthday, graduation, religious ceremony, completing a marathon or big personal achievement, special moments such as a family reunion, 1:1 time with your grandparents to hear their stories, or day-to-day moments such as your child singing a song, telling a story, or talking about what they did that day. To view our question prompt library, see here. If anything is not covered and you’d like ideas, please reach out to contact@sharewithleaf.com and we’d be happy to help you think of questions.

Yes, all audio recordings are encrypted and safely stored with cloud-based storage. You control who has access to them through the sharing settings in the app. In the unfortunate circumstance that we have to cease operations (which is unlikely!), your recordings will continue to be safe and live on through the storage methods mentioned above.

Switch your plan in the app from free to paid by clicking on “Settings” > “Manage Subscription” and then choosing a monthly or annual plan. If you’d like to switch back to the free plan, you will need to cancel your subscription. You will still have access to all of your recordings, the ability to share them, and also be able to listen to anything shared with you. However you will not be able to record or upload content once you’ve reached the 5 recording threshold.

Once you hit your recording limit of 5 stories, you will continue to have access to all of your stories and those shared with you, however you will not be able to record or upload any additional content. In order to continue adding stories to leaf, you would need to upgrade to the paid plan.

We don’t have a family plan at this time. All accounts are for the individual user.

You can access your data through the leaf app, even after you cancel your Unlimited membership. You can also export your data at any time whether or not you are on the free or unlimited plan. If you’d like to have your account and data entirely removed, contact us and we’ll be happy to do so.

We hope to be working on leaf for a long time. By offering paid subscriptions, we’re able to do that in a sustainable way. Our goal is to make a product that surpasses your expectations (and ours!) and allows people everywhere to record and share high-quality, meaningful audio memories—all while maintaining data integrity.
